Ankerbrot planned to build a new production plant from which its 100 bakery shops across Vienna were to be supplied, with environmental and social sustainability in mind. Thus, a sustainable logistics concept should explore the technological, economic, and environmental feasibility with battery-electric trucks to avoid CO2 emissions.
Our solution
denkstatt – together with our partner Gregori Consulting – developed a sustainable logistics concept, addressing:
- Regulatory environment and other market drivers
- Sustainability demands of clients and other stakeholders
- Analysis of current data (volumes, trips) and future demand/changes in product portfolio
- Technological feasibility of battery-electric trucks with cooling, including infrastructure requirements
- The potential of innovative, shared approaches for the fleet
- Route simulation taking into account payload, volume, and time constraints
- Calculation of CO2 emissions reduction
- Business case calculations, including subsidies and carbon pricing
The results could then be integrated into the further planning processes of the new plant.
