The client sought to minimize the environmental impact of a product series after it reached their end of life. Consequently, they requested a comprehensive assessment to gain insight into the environmental and economic implications of various disposal, collection, and treatment options (e.g., recycling, pyrolysis) for the products in different countries.
Our solution
A cost-benefit analysis was conducted to determine the most ecologically and economically viable take-back or collection system for the client’s products. The analysis considered various scenarios in different European and Asian markets. Several factors were taken into account: the distances to stores, other logistics, and treatment facilities in each country, providing a fact-based overview of the available possibilities.
Client benefit
Leveraging the evaluation by denkstatt, the client was empowered to compare and contrast collection options, ultimately selecting the most ecologically and economically feasible solution for each country. This enabled the client to optimize their future plans for enhancing the circularity of their business and steering them in the right direction.
